WEEK 9 ...

Our little guy is growing up! At 9 weeks, Gus weighed in at 25 pounds. This has been a big week for growing!

He's now going everywhere. Easily climbs stairs and is now beginning to get the hang of going down the low rise of the outdoor steps. He's been following Karma all around the yard trying to keep up and to make the noises she does. His naps are getting shorter and he is playing with his toys more than chewing on us. When we're in the kitchen, he's not far away laying around for something good to hit the floor!

He loves carrying anything, sticks mostly.

One long standing tradition on the mountain is for the dogs to sit on the hill and watch us stack wood. We were glad to see that both pups are willing to carry this on beginning on day one of this year's wood haul. From time to time, Karma checked in on how the stacking was coming under the deck while Gus maintained watch over the hauler.

Karma has begun to show Gus who's boss! He is now following her more and more which also means he is nipping at her when he catches up. She will tolerate this for just so long and is now finally beginning to quietly growl at him to stop or just pushes him away with her nose. When he grows out of this puppy phase they will be great buddies for sure.
